# Record in-person meetings on your phone

### Capture face-to-face meetings without a laptop

Not all meetings happen online. Workshops, client sessions, and on-site visits don't come with a meeting link, but they still need a record.

Fyxer's **Start recording now** workflow gives you meeting summaries anywhere, from any device.

***

### What you'll achieve

With this workflow, you can:

* Record face-to-face meetings from your phone
* Generate summaries automatically
* Store meeting context in your Dashboard
* Draft follow-ups automatically

***

### When to use this workflow

Use this workflow when:

* You're meeting a client in person
* You're running a workshop or training
* There's no meeting link or calendar invite

***

### Customer insight

Teri, an AI consultant, immediately identified this as her missing tool:

> "I don't have a good in-person option…I would use this for sure."

For busy consultants, in-person meetings are often the hardest to document.

### Step-by-step workflow

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Step 1: open Fyxer on your phone

Bookmark the [Dashboard](https://app.fyxer.com/) link on your mobile so it's always ready. Open it up and go to Notetaker.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Step 2: start recording

From the **Record meeting** button select **Start recording now**.

This option is designed specifically for in-person conversations.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Step 3: introduce the speakers

Best practice at the start:

"Hi, I'm Alexa. I'm here with \[Name] from \[Company]. We're discussing \[topic]."

This helps Fyxer label speakers correctly.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Step 4: place your phone (unlocked) on the table and talk naturally

No laptop. No online meeting invite. Just record the conversation as it happens.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Step 5: stop recording and let Fyxer summarize

When the meeting ends, stop the recording. Fyxer will generate:

* Transcript
* Executive summary
* Action items
* Follow-up-ready context

The meeting is automatically saved in the **Recorded** tab within Notetaker.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Step 6: use the summary for follow-ups

From any recorded meeting, use the meeting insights window on the right to:

* Draft an email
* Confirm next steps
  {% endstep %}
  {% endstepper %}

### Power user tips

**Use this for workshops and client sessions**\
In-person meetings are high-value. Don't let them go undocumented.

**Keep recordings short and focused**\
If you have a longer session, record in separate segments. Fyxer records up to 2 hours per meeting – start a new recording if you go over.

**Follow up immediately**\
The summary is ready before you leave the room. Use it to send follow-ups while the conversation is still fresh.

***

### Common mistakes to avoid

**Forgetting to introduce speakers**\
A quick intro improves transcript accuracy.

**Waiting until later to document outcomes**\
Record in the moment. It's more reliable and takes less time than reconstructing it later.

**Keeping separate notes for in-person and online meetings**\
All your meeting notes should live in one place. Fyxer keeps in-person and online meetings together, so nothing falls through the gaps.

***

### Result: face-to-face meetings are captured, searchable, and actionable

With in-person recording, you're no longer reliant on your memory or scribbled notes. **Every meeting is structured and searchable.**
