Using Fyxer with Outlook & Gmail

Fyxer works with Outlook and Gmail. Each platform handles categorization differently. This guide shows you how your inbox will look and what settings help Fyxer work best.

How Fyxer Organizes Your Inbox

Once you connect your email, Fyxer categorizes incoming emails into these 8 categories automatically.

In Outlook:

• 8 folders appear in your sidebar

• Colored category tags show on each email

• Emails move into their folders and leave your main inbox. Disabled categories: Emails stay in your main inbox. The folder remains empty.

In Gmail:

• 8 labels appear under your inbox

• Labels are color-coded

• Emails appear in both your inbox and under their label. Enabled categories: Emails skip your inbox and only appear under their label.

Turn on Conversation View

Conversation View helps Fyxer read full email threads - so drafts are more accurate.

Outlook: Conversation View may be off by default. Turn it on so Fyxer can see the complete thread.

Go to your Drafts settings page for exact steps, or read this help article.

Gmail: Conversation View is usually on. If it's off, drafts will have less context.

Outlook Setup

These settings make the biggest difference:

✔ Enable Conversation View So drafts reflect the full thread.

✔ Use Outlook Desktop Categories display most clearly here.

✔ Check your Outlook version Fyxer works with:

• Outlook Desktop for Microsoft 365

• Outlook Web

• Outlook for Mac (new Outlook)

Older versions may not support categories. Check the Help Center's compatibility page if you see issues.

If Microsoft asks for admin approval Some organizations require IT approval before connecting Outlook to Fyxer. If you see "Need admin approval," share the message with your IT team. Fyxer is a verified Microsoft partner and can be approved quickly.

Gmail Setup

Fyxer works out of the box with Gmail. Here's how to get the smoothest experience:

✔ Check that labels aren’t hidden In Settings → Labels, make sure your top Fyxer labels (1–8) are set to Show in label list and Show in message list.

✔ Keep Conversation View on Gmail groups threads by default - perfect for draft accuracy.

✔ Use Gmail Web Labels and color coding show up more clearly on desktop.
